Automatic Receipt Backup

Smart Receipts can back up receipt images and expense data to your own Dropbox or OneDrive account. Use this guide to understand what is protected, how to enable OneDrive backup, and how to restore receipts later.

How automatic backup works

Once cloud backup is enabled, Smart Receipts can protect new receipt scans and expense data automatically. Backup is designed to reduce the risk of losing receipt history after phone changes, app reinstalls, or device problems.

Backed up

Receipt images, expenses, categories, tags, payment modes, and settings.

Stored in your account

Backup files go to the Dropbox or OneDrive account you connect.

How to enable OneDrive backup

  1. Open Smart Receipts on your iPhone.
  2. Go to Settings, then open Cloud Backup.
  3. Select OneDrive as your storage provider.
  4. Sign in with your Microsoft account and allow Smart Receipts to save backup data.
  5. Confirm backup is connected, then keep automatic backup enabled for future receipts.

OneDrive backup is useful for work receipts because it keeps receipt images and expense records close to the Microsoft storage many people already use for business files.

restore

How to restore receipts

  1. Install Smart Receipts on the new or restored iPhone.
  2. Open Settings, then Cloud Backup.
  3. Connect the same Dropbox or OneDrive account used for backup.
  4. Choose restore to bring back receipt history, expenses, categories, and settings.
  5. Review recent receipts and keep backup enabled for future scans.

Restore works best when the same cloud account is used for backup and recovery.
